Have never played Quake before and I think the game aged really well. Really enjoyed the experience overall.

As a re-release/remastered I believe the package should offer a little more insigth regarding the development of the game such as a directors commentary, design documents/drafts, concept art, etc. However, at such a low price, and adding two new campaings it is not really fair to complain.

As for the game, the original campaing remains excellent although constrained by some technicalities of the time of release. Scourge of Armagon and Dissolution of Eternity are both good, but the enemies and wepons added dont improve the experience much, and both campaings drag a little.

The highlight for me are both campaings developed by Machine Games. Dimension of the Past seem to be developed by the same constraints of the original development team and is very creative. Dimension of the Machine is by far the best part of the package. Here there are no breaks and it feels like a generarional leap in game design and scope.

The Switch port is not perfect, but it is good enough. The portability and gyro controls are great advantages of this version.
