The themes of impending unavoidable death in this game irreversibly altered my brain chemistry when I first played this as a small dumb child, so if you're a small dumb child, I wholly recommend playing this and then crying yourself to bed like the small dumb child you are.

Genuinely one of the most moving video game stories of all time, even if it dips into some really goofy (but still endearing) territories once in a while. Can never decide if this one or FF6 is my favorite Final Fantasy game.
Only complaints are that the turn-based combat takes seven millennia to charge up and that the PC port sucks doo-doo feces (download the Moguri Mod).
