Really fucking amazing remake. Similar to the RE2 and RE4 Remakes in that it takes what was already an excellent game and just improves and modernizes the combat - remixing what we know already, while still retaining most of what made the original special.
I definitely wouldn't mind an updated version of the second game in this style, especially if the quality is going to be this high.

What exactly did it do differently besides of course sprucing up the visuals and adding dialogue?

They improved the Zero-G gameplay a lot. You can now freely control Isaac while being in a zero gravity room. There also aren't any loading screens and the whole ship is connected now, so you can run around freely on the ship.

@SkeletonGrimm67 Thx Skels, those are definitely some QOL improvements for sure, but couldn't you freely control in the OG gravity rooms?

They also changed the story a little bit. There's added scenes, characters and interactions that weren't in the original, kinda like what Capcom did with the RE2 Remake.

Thanks man. I still want to play the OG trilogy before doing the remake, but this definitely makes me excited to try it eventually.

Definitely play the original trilogy first. The first two games are up there as some of my favourite games ever. The 3rd game is fun if you play co-op with a friend, which is what I did.

I'm curious, since you liked it, why is the 3rd game so derided by fans of the first two?

@RedBackLoggd
Human enemies and more of a focus on action rather than horror, microtransactions, generally shittier story

LOL, yeah, that'd do it. Surprised they dropped the ball on the story.
@RedBackLoggd No you couldn't freely control your movement in the OG when you were in the zero gravity rooms.
