Sadly this game was meant to be part of a duology, with the sequel being what would tie up every loose end that's left at the end, but the completely negative reception it got on release discouraged the writer and director who ended up just abandoning the series and Capcom decided to make a "soft reboot" instead. I'm still angry at this.

Yeah I've heard things about that, but anyways I still think this game gets too much flack for not really doing much wrong. The mystery is good and cases are fun as usual. I know some loose ends already don't get tied up like finding out you know, the big thing that is kept open at the end. But yeah that sucks
