pros:
its metro, and when its being metro its great; sound design is immaculate as ive come to expect from these games, the atmosphere is fantastic, you feel cold in the metro and feel the heat of the desert, shooting remains great. the first act and the winter level in the institute with the blind apes
cons:
its AAA slop; the open world is meaningless, crafting sucks, driving is...whatever, boats are just not fun, they somehow fucked up running; running in uneven terrain(90% of the game) will shoot you upwards fucking up your momentum, this got me killed multiple times, grabbing onto ledges is unreliable as this open world game that does go trough the effort of crafting even the smallest encounters will arbitrarily decide you cant go up this or that rock, because its ultimately still metro and because its ultimately still metro the ''open world'' is really just a 5 hour long surface section from last light, which doesnt start bad, but gets boring fast, even the game knows this since after the caspian sea youre back to metros linearity, just disguised by being on a jungle, characters and story are lame as fuck, every new character has the depth of a poodle and old characters are gutted, anna, that in the previous game act as a foil to artyoms recklessness now is relegated to the role of wife, the one time she does something its the coolest moment in the game.
will probably play the dlcs at some point, did not enjoy most of my time with this, i just finished to see the rest of the lame story.
