So this is a game about the Battle of Midway that was made in Japan. In the US version, you're a US airplane taking out Japanese ships and planes. In the Japanese version, was it the other way around?

I was genuinely curious, apparently in the Japanese version it was still US planes taking out Japanese ships and planes. Yoshiki Okamoto said that the Japanese right wing criticized them for it as well.
