I am completly baffeld. This is what started the character action genre ? Its been a while since I playd a game that activly fights you having fun with every mechanic it has. My previous experience with the franchise was only DMC 3 aswell as the Reboot and I liked them quit a bit. So I thought I should play the other DMC games largely considerd "the good ones". Guess I was wrong, this sucked.

@NOWITSREYNTIME17 That is what I always heard from everyone but I really hated my time with DMC 1. I cant imagine how bad 2 must be.
2 is way way worse. Funnily enough I still rated 2 higher than your 1 rating lol

There's definitely a chance that playing DMC2'll make you appreciate this more, it and DMC1 are night and day in terms of basic competency. For how famously horrible 2 is, the "why" of that still probably isn't gone into enough. Dante can't even consistently move in it without jittering back to his idle stance every couple of steps, for one example, which made me realise just how much I took something as fundamental as a character moving where I tell them to for granted until I played it. 99% of the time I can't wrap my head around why some people go out of their way to play games they know they won't like, but I reckon a lot of people would benefit from playing DMC2 to get a better appreciation for what an actually, genuinely atrocious game's really like.

@ProudLittleSeal Well I never really go into any game where I know that im not gona like it. Its definitly possible that DMC2 will completly change my mind on the first one. And maybe it really is just that the formula for this type of action game has been so edge into stone for the past 20 years that anything not shaped like what comes after it is just a immediate negativ shock to the system. Like I said: I genuily hated my time with DMC1 but Im also willing to admit that maybe Im not just wrong or I had the wrong expectation going in. That definitly happend before. I despiesd Dark Souls 1 for years until I took a big step back one day and actually got want the game wanted from me. Now its one of my favorite series of all time.
