This is my second playthrough. I originally did a full run on PS4 back when the game first came out. I think we all know how miserable of an experience that is.

PC version, obviously, much better. I originally went into this just vanilla, but I found some quality of life mods that made my second run feel so much better.

I really didn't enjoy the nomad run I did on my first run. So this time I chose to do a Corpo run. That felt much more interesting, and it feels like you can use that lifepath more in conversations. Maybe I'm reading that wrong, but Corpo lifepath options showed up quite a bit. I know your choices in a lot of cases lead to very minor differences in missions, but Corpos seem to have more fun I guess!

Maybe if I ever do a third run of this game, streetkid might have some interesting choices, but I can't say Nomad did.

Combat still feels pretty good and I do enjoy gigs as they are just good, sometimes mindless, go do thing/get thing, leave missions. Just wish there were more of them to do in base game.

I really do want to like this game more. I'm just not as into it as I thought I would be. I'm a nerd who read all the Cyberpunk books, thank you library, and then I bought all the books digitally and always wanted to play the ttrpg with people. This game being announced was like a dream come true for a younger version of me. Unfortunately, CDPR really messed that launch up and it's soured me on the game ever since. Hell, I wouldn't have even played again on PC if it wasn't given to me as a gift earlier this year after I invested into a PC that can actually play games now.

Who knows, maybe the 2.0 update coming out later this month might give me a little bit more to enjoy. But I for sure am not buying that expansion day 1. I'll wait.
