There's a whole lotta ass showing going on in the Backloggd review section for Separate Ways! I know you kids love to whinge, but Separate Ways wasn't "free in the original" and if we wanted to play it we had to buy the whole game again on a different platform. There's still time to edit those reviews, folks! You don't want to be WRONG ONLINE do you? About VIDEOGAMES? We both know that being right about videogames online is all you've got!

I was just going to continue past this while scrolling. But it was written to instigate, so why not give you what you’re looking for. I’m sure if you posted this you’re ready to back it up, right?

“I know you kids love to whinge”

I hope you’re still in high school because an adult using ‘kids’ as a derogatory term in this way makes me laugh and cringe. You should’ve just gone with the word idiot or something similar.

“Separate Ways wasn't "free in the original" and if we wanted to play it we had to buy the whole game again on a different platform”

Yeah you’re right Separate Ways didn’t come with my copy I’ve had for close to two decades. The original did come with a complete mercenaries mode day one though and had no microtransactions too. The following versions of the game, like Wii, PS2, PS3, PS4, did include it, so why not this new version? It’s obvious Capcom and other companies want us all to pay more for games and this is how they do it without doing a straight up price increase. This way of releasing allows them to get good reviews before adding microtransactions and so any short comings of other modes aren’t considered. Didn’t this game have some really strict rules and embargo too. It seems obvious that this staggered release of content was a deliberate strategy designed to keep up interest and sales long after launch as well. I think expecting a complete package on day one is fair enough but I guess times have changed.

“There's still time to edit those reviews, folks!”

There’s still time to edit your review. You come across as someone who buys/accesses all of their content digitally and/or through subscriptions and is first in line to upgrade to a new phone every year. When corporations say jump, you’re first in line to say how high aren’t you.

“There's a whole lotta ass showing going on in the Backloggd review section”

The only thing on display is that you work for Capcom or have some kind of financial stake in them. Or are you just a fanboy that doesn’t want to see any criticism of something you love. Nothing wrong with that, just maybe be a little aware of your own bias. I know I’m getting older and love the original RE4 to death. I know I would prefer it if game companies just put prices up if it means we can get rid of this crap but sadly, I know that we are going to get both.

“You don't want to be WRONG ONLINE do you? About VIDEOGAMES? We both know that being right about videogames online is all you've got!”

Or, you know, people have different opinions and want to share them, discuss them and debate them, in a respectful enough way, here on Backloggd. Projecting, maybe? If you don’t mind the way this game and its content was released and priced, that’s fine. Maybe give your two cents on why you’re cool with it?

I don’t think this was too harsh but if you’re going to criticise others opinions, especially in a condescending way, then it’s fair to criticise yours back, right?

Haha, that’s pretty much what I expected. I understand wanting to correct someone if they claimed this DLC was in the original Gamecube release. I kept scrolling down but didn’t find that. I could have missed it or it’s been edited. Oh wait, I found one, my bad I’ll take that. Not sure that’s “a whole lotta ass showing” though and I think their intent was to refer to the original RE4 as a whole rather than the specific Gamecube release. Maybe there were/are more examples.

Your comment is still odd. Why wasn’t it on the offending review(s)? You could have debated this with the specific user(s). Still condescending, still comes across as jumping to defend a corporation and still cringe in its wording. I see you’re on here for laugh though, I shouldn’t have considered it even slightly seriously, my bad, carry on.
