I had high hopes for No More Heroes, but I couldn't help but find it incredibly dated. First things first though, the combat and the bosses are really fun, and the cell shading aesthetic hasn't aged too badly. The rest I'm sorry but I didn't enjoy at all. Travis is a wannabe badass when in reality he's just a douchey pervert, which I know is the point, but I'm in a point of my life when I can't stand that trope. The levels are all the same: kill the enemies in a room, then go to a hallway with more enemies, rinse and repeat until you get to the boss. Every enemy is a variation of three and they all have the same annoying ass voice, two quotes and just one death sound. And the open world, don't get me started with the open world, it's impossibly dull, the missions are repetitive and it just feels like an artificial elongation of the game. I really wanted to like it, and I had fun at times, but it's just a repetitive mess with a really dated 2000s tone.
