ResonanceJay finished Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective
I think this may be one of the best mystery games ever made honestly. The way the game blends its incredible puzzle work with a narrative that constantly kept me on the edge as I tried to solve everything myself before the game revealed it was insanely well done. Not to mention that this game has an insanely memorable cast of characters; which to me is one of the most important parts of a game. I adored seeing all of Sissel and Lynne’s interactions. Their personalities played off each other so well throughout the game. Ghost trick is an absolute master class of a game that I’m not gonna forget anytime soon.

Shockingly, this one was pretty good. It feels like it actually understood the mechanics the first two games had put into place and built a game where all of them worked really well together. I actually had to play the game instead of just cheesing to reach the next fight. I also really enjoyed how the game handled the flow of its fights in having you transition between phases of them in order to get something similar to the original show fight instead of just making you go through ever single small instance of combat in the show the way 2 did. This was probably the best execution of the anime arena fighter I've seen. I get why people talk so highly about this game now. It is honestly really shocking to me that I had this much fun playing the game after how bad I feel Sparking and Sparking Neo were. But hey, Sparking Meteor (this title for it is way cooler than Budokai Tenkaichi 3 I'm sorry) is pretty good. I'll give them that, I'm actually kinda curious to see how Sparking Zero plays out now

ResonanceJay finished Final Fantasy XIV: Growing Light
Man, what a fun set of patch quests. The way they follow in the footsteps of Endwalker to enforce its themes while setting up for new things is really fascinating to me. Definitely not on the same level of Endwalker but there was no way it could be given this is an intermission into the beginning of what is essentially FF14-2 after Endwalker finished off a decade long story arc. For what it is I really liked these patches and I'm excited to see what Dawntrail does to set up this next Saga of the game. I really loved Zero (though her new outfit is a straight downgrade. RIP the hat) and thought her arc was pretty compelling. That being said, she pails in comparison to Wuk Lamat. Who i've only known for three quests but is hands down one of the most fun characters to have on screen for me. I adore her and cannot wait to help her throughout Dawntrail.

ResonanceJay finished Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2
This game is almost exactly the same as the first one except it has a bit better presentation and got rid of most of the insanely annoying mission types. Those just get replaced with mind numbing boredom as the AI for the enemies do the same thing every time and you can do the same trick every time to counter it. It gets old really fast for me due to the lack of actual variety in play here. I may just not be into arena fighters honestly, who knows. Just, as someone with a deep love for Dragonball playing this for the first time I just don't really see what everyone else sees in it. Hoping I don't have the same thing to say about the third game in this trilogy.

ResonanceJay finished Slayers X: Terminal Aftermath - Vengance of the Slayer
This game is so stupid in the exact kind of way something made by Zane Lofton from Hypnospace outlaw should be. Its silly and campy but also honestly has some pretty good gameplay. All of the variations on the standard fps weapons are really funny to me and I like how stuff like the glass blaster reloads using broken windows. Makes a unique spin on hunting for ammo. Pretty fun game overall, good follow up to Hynpospace following one of its more memorable characters.
