genuinely peak fiction
this is probably my new favorite Pokemon game, (if megas were around this gen that would be fucking awesome)
I'll start with the negatives, because I have very few. I kinda wish Pokemon could follow you, I know they couldn't in Platinum, but it would've been nice. Also Zoroark being event exclusive kinda sucks (especially if you're emulating haha). All the starters kinda suck (sorry dont like any of them ngl). The beginning, (much like every Pokemon game), is pretty slow, Excadrill can't learn Iron Head until B&W2 (idk why), Hydreigon evolves a bit late (lvl 64 for level 50 elite 4 in base-game, is a bit high). Also there's no league champion picture with your whole team?? (i know it's kinda a small touch, but I actually really liked it in Platinum, made kinda bummed when it wasn't there this time)

(Seems like a lot, but I promise I loved literally EVERYTHING ELSE)
The music was fucking FIRE (THE ELITE FOUR's THEME WAS SO FUCKING GOOOODDDDDD) the gyms were super fun and didn't feel like playtime padding, pokemon finally had idle animations and the art style of this game was genuinely phenomenal (fuck you GameFreak for losing all your style in favor of shitty 3D models), BARELY ANY HM's NEED YESSSSSSSS, the story was actually really good??!!
Actually, lemmie take a sec to praise the story for a moment. Never before have I played a Pokemon game where the story was competent, let alone good. But for some reason, GameFreak decided to go fucking Sicko Mode and made a really mature and pretty deep story about truth, ideals, and understanding. While not all of the writing was stellar, for the most part, I really fucked with the vision.
(Also N is one of the best Pokemon antagonist's ever FULL STOP).

For real though, Unova is my comfort region. If you have the chance to play Black 2 or White 2, please do. The story isn't quite as good but the improvements and new areas are so dope.
