๐ŸŽž๏ธ ... ๐ŸŽฎ Videogames that continue movie narratives

Not your typical "movie tie-ins" list. Here is a list of videogames that are not strict adaptations of the source material, but rather story continuations often made after the IP was popular (e.g. The Thing). The film IPs tend to have 'cult status', and these continuations are developed for niche fanbases with the intention to continue a story in some meaningful way.

Some of these are great, have become cult classics in their own right and are often considered canonical to the original film (e.g. The Warriors, The Godfather), some have had input from original creators (e.g. Ghostbusters, Stranglehold, Back to the Future), whilst others have been ridiculed upon release for tarnishing the reputation of the film in question (e.g. Reservoir Dogs, Evil Dead: Hail to the King, Colonial Marines).

I've classified these as the following: direct sequels and direct prequels, interquels (stories between film events), sidequels (stories taking place alongside film events) and intraquels (stories that take place within film events).

Sidequel to Back to the Future series (1985-1990) (featuring Alternate timeline Marty & Doc)
Alternate timeline Sequel to Scarface (1983)
Sidequel to The Godfather (1972)
Expansion of Reservoir Dogs (1992)
Adaptation and expansion of The Italian Job (1969)
Sequel to Army of Darkness (1992)
Sequel to Army of Darkness (1992) and Hail to the King (2000)
Alternate timeline Sequel to Evil Dead II
Sidequel to The Matrix: Reloaded (2003)
Adaptation and interquel to The Matrix trilogy (1999-2003)
Prequel to The Warriors (1979)
Sequel to Ghostbusters 2 (1989)
Sequel to Hard Boiled (1992)
Sequel to Groundhog Day (1993)
Sequel to Alien (1979)
Sequel to The Thing (1982)
Sequel to Alien 3 (1992)
Sidequel to Jurassic Park (1993)
Sequel to From Dusk till Dawn (1996)
Sequel to Wanted (2008)
Interquel between Beyond Thunderdome (1985) and Fury Road (2015)
Sidequel to Blade Runner (1982)
Interquel between RoboCop 2 (1990) and RoboCop 3 (1993)
Interquel between Dirty Harry (1971) and Magnum Force (1973) (Cancelled).
