When you have two games that is so different from each other but still liked by their fanbases, what do you do for the third? Well, certainly shouldn't have been taking parts of both but never going the full way of either like this game did. It ends up being the worst of the two worlds so to speak while not really having enough to stand on its own (unless you really like gooigi). Not to mention that it felt a bit unpolished at times.

I don’t really agree. While you could say it’s the worst of both worlds, it still works perfectly as a fusion of its predecessors. Well it relies a bit too hard on gooigi for setting itself apart of the older games but I would say it’s enough. Also don’t forget to mention how the visuals and level theming is leagues above 1 and 2.

@Nick_ppta I don't believe the theming to be remotely close to Luigis Mansion of 1 (While 3 favours variety in this regard, 1 favoured one consistent theme and it executes that perfectly). The visuals is better than the previous games but should be expected out of a modern sequel, especially with one where its predecessor is a 3DS game.

Yeah I agree with the theming but I think the variety approach works perfectly fine and I enjoy both. And yes it should be expected to look better than it’s predecessors but this shit looks absolutely outstanding, easily one of the prettiest games on the switch and I think that’s something we should give the game credit for.
