2012

One of my favorite games from an aesthetic standpoint. some of the puzzles are a little too cryptic for their own good imo but still overall super fun.

Pretty fun gameplay loop but it feels significantly lacking when compared to other splatoon campaigns, particularly in the story department.

feels like it runs even worse than the base game but regardless its still a pretty fun and short experience

The vibes were on point but they forgot to make like 60% of the game fun

if it doesn't have crusty ass low res art on the loading screens I DONT FUCKING WANT IT

i see why a lot of people like this one but honestly i found sapphire to be a much more memorable game. not bad by any means but it just didn't stick with me as much as id hoped

not really much to say about this one. just a very pleasant and cute visual novel

absolute classic that any jrpg fan should play. My only real gripe with this one is the endgame. The game's plot has so much forward momentum that kept me super invested, but when the game splits off into a bunch of separate side quests towards the end it kinda lost me. The side quests arent bad by any means, some are kinda annoying, but they're mostly decent. But ultimately they just kinda killed my momentum with the game, and I lost a lot of my motivation to play that I had throughout the rest of its playtime. Dont let that be a deterrent though, the other 95% of this game is stellar and everyone should play it.

Ive never really been a huge zelda fan aside from botw and totk, but this game really surprised me with just how great it was. My only gripe is that I wish the triforce quest was handled a little differently, but honestly seeing how it was in the original i cant really complain.

2017

Has a lot of cool ideas at play but is just super undercooked

actually nuts how much of a massive quality jump this game is from the previous two

it makes me upset how good this game is

beat this doing a randomizer soul link so take this with a massive grain of salt. It's a big step up from the original but fails to address a lot of things that made the original so frustrating. The level curve is still awful, team rocket plot is still garbage, and johto still just feels like an incomplete region. The overall improvement in polish alone makes this fun enough, but gen 2 is still probably the weakest gen imo.
