One of my absolute favorites. Such a quirky game that experiments with nearly every feature introduced in its predecessor. It's a long campaign with some roguelike-esque spikes in difficulty compounded on some occasionally imbalanced RTS elements, to the point that it probably belongs in a genre of its own. My favorite parts remain the enemy design, the adaptive music, and the writing, which documents enemies as though they're real animals and collectible treasures as though they're alien artifacts. The multiplayer modes are also solid, the competitive mode holds up years later. All in all a game like no other, a dear childhood game of mine, and my favorite exploration of the inch-high world I've seen or played.
