The best Multiplayer-Shooter out there right now. The Lore and the Game art design are just amazing. The atmosphere and gun-play are also really good, the sounddesign is something else. You can pinpoint exactly where enemy hunters are and shoot them through walls, it's really satisfying. The game relies heavily on sounddesign. The problem is that the new weather effects destroy the core concept of sound and visibility of enemies. An attempt was made here to give players who are less capable of aiming the opportunity to get within range of spam weapons/shotguns. I like the idea of weather effects but they shouldn't have sacrificed the uniqueness of Hunt for it. In general, the game is moving more and more in a causal direction and away from the making it more and more easier to play with one spam weapon after the next. That's a development I don't like because it's Hunt becomes more and more like CSGO or CoD which are both games that I hate.
Because the good thing was that the weapon balance was great, you could kill enemy hunters with every weapon, if you land a headshot within the weapon's effective range the hunter is dead no matter how cheap or crappy the gun is you are using. You also don't need perfect aim, if you play smart, have enough map knowledge and good headset you can even play the game by just relying on these strengths. Sadly the game has several techniacl problems like the server performance or trade windows which are just way too big. The MMR is also really bad, you can lower it by playing soulsurvivor(different game mode). The problem is that dying in this gamemode has absolutely no consequence, you loose nothing and that way you can lower your MMR which then effects your "matchmaking rank" in the main gamemode called bounty hunt. This mechanic leads to unfair matches in which you either play against players who are way beyond your skill level and absolutely demolish you or who are just bad at the game. Hunt Showdown is still a very unique game but the recent direction in which the game is developing is worrying. Still
every match feels different, the fights are mostly exciting and fun.
