This game will always hold a special place in my heart. Excitebots: Trick Racing was a game that I got at some time or another when I was a child and one that I absolutely played the death out of. I remember nearly completing the game 100% as a kid. While that original save file is gone, it cannot be taken away that this game is incredibly addictive and fun. A lot of this is nostalgia talking but the fun I have with this game cannot be understated.

Pros:
- Track designs are awesome. Each track is inspired by a place in the world ( Fiji, Canada, Tasmania, Egypt, etc. ) and are absolutely filled with different branching paths/shortcuts. With the inclusion of the many sports based minigames found along the track, these track elements significantly add to each track.
- The music is absolutely bumping.
- So many cars/racers to choose from, each with a special unlockable skin that can be worn during races.
- The satisfaction that is felt when comboing together a string of tricks and stunts is through the roof.

Cons:
- The controls ( at certain times ) aren't as responsive as I would want. Sometimes the game won't be able to register be doing an 'air spin' with my bot whilst I'm in the air. This is not a consistent problem but it does tend to happen at the most inconvenient times during a race.
- The grind to unlocking the locked Bots can be a bit annoying, as well as the grind to unlock their individual costumes and color paint jobs.
- The Poker side mode isn't all that fun in my opinion.
