"Love is the only reason to do anything in this life"

Pentiment is an incredible, emotional, heart wrenching, fascinating story. As much as I WANT to talk about the game in-depth, I won't solely because it really is something to be experienced.

I think Andreas Maler is an incredible character, and the way he evolves, both through the passage of time and depending on what you pick as his background is really great and fascinating. The writing is fresh but still steeped deep in the era and the type of setting and people that are in the game are a lot of fun.

Tassing is a town overflowing with life and love, from the beautiful art of the land and the characters, as if drawn in a book from the era. The music is beautiful, from what you hear as you walk about, as you investigate murders, and when you walk through the church and the abbey.

It's a game that actually makes me really curious and fascinated by the era.

Special shoutouts to Caspar, the best son boy imaginable, and to all of the absolutely adorable kiddos in this game. The kids are so cute and sweet and I love them all.

It's bittersweet, but the quote from the top, are very poignant and make me think about my own work and what I do. It's a line I'm going to turn around in my head for years to come, I'm sure. The beauty of art and what we create, the dragging process of it, how much it can hurt, how it can burn us out, and how we lose that luster for the things we love to do most by Living In A Society(tm). I love what I do, but it's been something that is tough at times, and it's a good reminder that the things that matter most are the people and things we love.

What a good game, what a good goddamn game. If you haven't played this game please play it, learn nothing going in, and let the wild experience take you for a ride. I didn't regret it in the slightest and you won't either.
