this would be a really good game for me if i didn't have a sea phobia. enough said.

This is my personal favourite sonic game. although many people don't like the gimmick of this game I being the Night time/Warehog stages. I honestly think they were a refreshing change to the franchise. This also marks the start of the "Boost era" which is really what i grew up on personally.

This game also had some of the best 3D sonic stages in the franchises with smash hits like Windmill isle, Dragon Road and Cool Edge.

I love this game mostly for the nostalgia it brings me. this was my first Sonic game that got me into the series, everything from the first reveal trailer to the opening scene and even things like the Warehog short just add to why i love this game so much.

That being said I do have some issues with this game too. I think that the level design of the night time stages can be questionable at times, often scaling in difficulty being either braindead easy or frustratingly hard. Also Tails as a whole In this game, with his character role essentially being replaced with Chip and himself being left in this odd "damsel in distress" role that really doesn't suit him

Overall though, for what it is i think that this game is one of the greatest examples of Sega trying to be experimental and inavative whist staying true to the franchise. it's also one of the last sonic games that doesn't rehash previous Sonic levels such as Green Hill Zone, which I honestly which they did more as I get they are a staple of the franchise but I really feel like it's what made this game feel so original for me compared to the others.

Other than the story being pretty barebones, I think this is the perfect game to showcase what the franchise has had to offer in terms of the mainline sonic games. this game also has one of my favourite modding scenes for not just sonic games but games in general.

One of my favourite modern platformers. annoyingly difficult at times but that's more of a skill issue than anything. very good game.

Honestly one of the best game I've ever played, great story, world Building and character development across the game. DLC was also one of the greatest expansions of all time. I couldn't recommend a game more than this.
