The first computer I played this on would, for some incomprehensible reason, refuse to load any save file I made myself. If I wanted to play it, I had to cross my fingers and rely entirely on an autosave function that my ten-year-old mind couldn't quite figure out the rules for. I lost a couple playthroughs to unintentionally saving after completely fucking up, and I was always walking on eggshells waiting for a crash.

I beat the game anyways, that's how good it is.
