Unfortunately, a very average game. A 2016 game rather than a 2024 one, and if the extreme pacing issues don't frustrate you into oblivion the bloated plotline will instead.

I will not deny some wonderful character high moments (Barret in North Corel, Loveless in Gold Saucer), but otherwise a great potential squandered. My only hope is that they learn from this for the final game, particularly as I loved the first game (Remake).

The entire final act was JRPGs at their absolute worst.
