It hurts me more than I thought it would to give Spyro such a middling score, but setting my nostalgia aside this game just isn't as good as it could have been. Make no mistake, at it's best Spyro 1 is still very fun, but as it's worst it's slow, empty, and lifeless. Also, don't even get me started on the boss fights, if you can call them that.
