Yes, it's that good. Quite possibly everything you'd want from a Sonic game. The memorable stages and mostly amazing level design create, arguably, the definitive 2D Sonic experience. The music too- it's fantastic. The whole thing just oozes fun, I don't think I've ever replayed a 2D platformer more in my life.
