Sekiro does so many great thing for the studio: it’s basically the first soulslike that plays in an asian setting. Did I say soulslike well actually it’s a game that has a closer relation to the character action genre. And thats a good thing for me. It plays also very fast with additional moving options in the world and combat like running, jumping and using your mechanic ancient batclaw. At first I didn’t understand what the game wanted me to do (second fight against Genichiro) because I was reflecting the attacks but not realising that I had to punish after a perfect reflect…well took some additional time to get into but when the fightig system works - it easily competes with some of the best the genre hast to offer, the multiple endings - great. Various skills and upgrades, pretty good.
Replaying bosses and adding boss rush - wow that’s a first one and I adore this change which was added via update. If you’re hardcore about DS you may feel like there isn’t as many bosses to beat or that the lore is more included in the cutscenes and the dialogue. But I mean I still think that this is a masterpiece. Meeting King Fisher and some other would’ve been nice in a DLC that never came but I’m already doing injustice by nitpicking this hard.
