Logged in to rate this only to find my rating I guess halfway through was an 8/10. Needless to say, I had a much better experience this time around.

I think I really enjoyed this a lot more after beating Samus Returns. That game I feel is a perfect introductory Metroid, whereas playing this game afterwards was a lot more. I had another save file I started months ago, but ended up just starting over sometime last week and that turned out to be a great decision. The game is masterful beyond belief. It can be frustrating because it has those "Metroid Moments" as Dunkey puts it. But overall, it's a fantastic experience, and exploring is incredibly fun, especially late game when you have all the upgrades. My favorite part of the game was probably backtracking after I got the screw attack and finding all the energy tanks and reserve tanks. Ended up with 82% of the items, didn't really go for all the missles. But yeah I love the exploration, even though some of it is completely BS. The mechanics are astounding, especially for a platformer at this time.

I loved this game a lot and would honestly love trying to 100% it sometime. Also MercurySteam should do a remake, that would be spectacular.
