LEGO Dimensions had 2 things going for it - the ability to play little bits of video game for a ton of properties that would normally never get a game like this, and the opportunity to buy cool little LEGO builds for said random properties.

Being able to play LEGO Doctor Who, Ghostbusters, Back to the Future, Portal, Adventure Time, and Goonies all in one video game is insane. The attention to detail with some of these franchises is excellent. One example of this is Doctor Who. Every time you die, you respawn as a new Doctor regeneration and the inside of your TARDIS changes to match which Doctor you are. Genuinely incredible.

The problem is - at the core of all this is a really mediocre LEGO video game with incredibly repetitive gameplay and finicky puzzle solving. If not for the properties I wanted to see, I would've dropped this game way earlier than I actually did.
