Se ha hecho curioso volver a hablar de este juego tras tanto tiempo. A día de hoy, lo que más me causa es nostalgia, nostalgia por una era en la que hablar de videojuegos se veía como algo atrevido (y no algo cansado). Por supuesto, se trata de una visión completamente rosada: Ya en el momento había gente (algunes, incluso, respetables) realizando interpretaciones completamente desquiciadas, y una tendencia a llevar al absurdo lo que, al final del día, es lo más cercano al juego-ensayo que hemos tenido fuera de la estafa del serious game.
¿Mi lectura de Beginner's Guide? Ten algo que decir sobre lo que juegas, pero recuerda que lo que construyas siempre será en colaboración, y nunca en solitario.

It's funny to talk about this game again after so long. Right now it mostlt instils nostalgia in me, nostalgia for an era when talking about videogames was seen as something daring instead of something rotten. Of course, it's nothing but a rose-tinted view: already at the time there were people, some of them respectable even, delivering unhinged interpretations, and you could see this tendency to take everything to its absurdest end. At the end of the day, this game is the closest thing to a game-essay that we've ever had outside the serious game racket.
My reading of Beginner's Guide? Express what you want to about what you're playing, but remember that what you'll build with your words will always be in tandem with others, never a lonely endeavor.
