Couldn't disagree more but it looks like you'll get your wish. Developer mentioned adding in a map in a future update. The lack of map makes pseudoregalia an unfortunately rare platformer / Metroidvania game with no menuing / interruptions to gameplay. For me, the lack of a map made me more aware of my surroundings and encouraged me to try to make difficult jumps / platforming challenges I probably wouldn't have otherwise (learned later most of these were not required or the fastest way). Adding a map isn't a big deal except people will likely default to using it. I'd encourage you or anyone to give it another shot without a map.
