"A Very Poor Tactical FPS"

After finally getting Games For Windows Live to work with this game, I decided to formally try it out and give my thoughts on it. After 4 hours of gameplay, I can say that this game is...functional. It is an extremely basic, boring, and barebones FPS with squad command gameplay. The story is sort of nonexistent, only revolving around clearing out the country of Tajikistan from insurgent forces. Your squadmates are largely forgettable, while your sergeant is very annoying and constantly nagging/cussing you out.

What I found to be extremely disappointing was the gunplay. There were many moments where I aimed directly at the enemy and a bullet would not connect with my target. I tried to see where the bullet traveled with slight tracer rounds, and some hooked to the left and right, which never made sense because I was prone and not moving. I don't think there is a wind system in the normal mode, so I chalked it up to either wonky gun physics or slightly misalligned reticles.

The AI is also extremely awful. Your squadmates will not follow directions, while enemies will either insta-kill you with an RPG or never be able to hit the broad side of a barn. Combining this with the muddy visuals, lackluster mission setup, and minimal customization ability, the game ended up being pretty bad. It could be more enjoyable in co-cop, although it is likely you will run into the same problems there as well.

I'm at least glad I was able to "play" this title instead of being cheaped out by GFWL yet again, but I would Not Recommend this game at all. It is very bad at a lot of basic shooter mechanics, and the things it does right are just subpar in the end.

Final Verdict: 2/10 (Bad)
