It handled the transition to 3D well, but as a Pokemon game it can be a little too basic. More in line with the early Pokemon games than the more character focused attempts of Gen 5 and Gen 7 onwards, it's good enough to have a fun time but it lacks any memorable distinguishing features that make it stand out in the lineup.
