a very solid title from The Pokemon Company. This game was the first pokemon game I ever played and its fun! I love the dex. Theres not really a single miss. I just wish there was more to the world.
This was my first pokemon game. So, I am bias and I do love this game. PRAISE THE EXP SHARE! Gone are the days of grinding now this game is strictly pick-up and play as progression in the game no longer becomes a chore. Also, I adored the mode wherein you could feed and pet your Pokémon to improve your friendship with them, which in turn allowed them to battle more effectively. MEGA EVOLUTIONS ARE DA BOMB. I can write a whole bullet list. I won't. So I will say, The story makes no sense (but Team Flare are cool), the gameplay loop is perfect, and Kalos is an excellent setting. Also, the after story was enjoyable.

revisiting this for my birthday this year, and despite the nostalgia glasses coming off and realising how much i misremembered or how much really is missing from this game, it will still hold a place in my heart. kalos had some really interesting and beautiful scenery, and I'm only sorry that it didn't get the time in the spotlight that it deserved. here's to pokemon za for letting me go back to lumiose!
