Later Pikmin games would be longer and flashier and have more mechanics at play, but for my money the original is still the best. Though the game is short and the tight 30 day timer is daunting on a first run, it gives the game a rhythm and an energy that makes it engrossing. There's no other game quite as relaxing and stressful at the same time.
