This is probably one of the most 'meh' games I've ever played. There was nothing atrocious about it, but it was nothing special. I should've known something was off when I took damage from the first boss from an attack that didn't even come into contact with my player sprite.

I feel like it's important to note this is my first 'zelda-like' ever INCLUDING actual Zelda games. So my points may be more reflective of the genre and not of the game itself but god, the hub map was so big. And for what? All the houses are so spread apart yet not a single screen/area was particularly memorable. I could've found the boss in the first dungeon without the map you're practically given from the jump, but I spent like ten minutes trying to find the mayor's house in town. The fact that I was devastated there was no map for the 'small village' you encounter after defeating the first dungeon should tell you all you need to know.

By the time I had gotten to the second dungeon, the forest one, that's when the 'meh' really started to set in. And by the way, you traverse through this huge, winding forest maze area before you even reach the dungeon, which also bothered me considering how much time I had just spent looking for the mayor. And then the dungeon itself was just... meh. Like, I felt 'wow I just spent all that time looking for this place and it's kinda just... fine.' That's where I ended up turning in, by the way. And like with other games I played, it's not even that this is super hard or annoying or frustrating, it just... didn't feel worth the time to me.
