Gravity Rush 2 is a bittersweet game. It's hard to not see how much love and care was put into it, but you know that it will likely never get the respect it deserves outside of the relatively small group who has played it, or from Sony themselves as a franchise with such high potential that will never get the chance to be realized. Gravity Rush 2 is a proper sequel, expanding upon the core of the first game in a very effective way in the form of a larger, higher-budget world, Gravity styles, customization, and overall scope. It genuinely saddens me that this franchise is so completely abandoned by Sony, to the point where it still (and probably never will lol) hasn't received a 60FPS bump for PS5. The game is far from perfect, but the potential is there and then some. The narrative is messy and full of plot holes (although it features some very important social issues that are presented in a way anyone could understand) and of course there's some jank, not only with the gravity but with certain missions and objectives, but you cannot convince me that this small franchise isn't something truly special.

8.5/10
