I am very confident and will defend my point in saying this has the best story of any Pokemon game. The characters of this game are my favorite in any (which to be fair, isn't that many) Pokemon game I've played and feels like the story had much more substance than it typically does in the series. Apart from that, gen 7 is pretty alright; I don't care what anyone says, new Pokemon designs are great, in both gen 7 and 8, and the move away from chibi-style characters gave the game a bit more life as well. I think these are the best 3DS Pokemon games overall.

This could possibly be one of the worst reviews I’ve ever seen. This game almost killed competitive play and needed to be saved by a remake following its release. Do we ever speak about SM competitive?? No we don’t. When we think of this generation competitive meta, ORAS is what comes to mind first. Sun and Moon’s method of traveling through the islands with rushed pacing and random story beats muddles down the overall interest and engagement I ever had in playing. This game will forever be forgotten and looked over despite being the “new” game in its own gen.
