A very interesting fusion of direct lovecraft inspirations with a more wholesome tone. The art direction and environments were absolutely gorgeous, but I would’ve appreciated more lore and more darkness.

My biggest gripe with this game though was the INFURIATINGLY slow movement speed. If you’re going to spread a puzzle out over a large area, you cannot give the player the land speed of a tortoise.

This was an absolute blast to play with my partner! The core gameplay loop hinges on completing a huge variety of little quests to level up yourself as well as your individual forms, unlocking new abilities along the way and swapping them on to other forms to build the ideal fighter. This loop felt very inspired by the quest bloat seen in a lot of open world games these days, and they found a way to embrace that and turn it into its own compelling system.

On top of that, this game had great art direction, funny writing, and a good variety of challenging dungeons. Highly recommended, especially if you have a partner or friend to play it with!
