Wow mama, I am gaming

I really love just sitting down and playing the shit outta this game. My favorite part about any FromSoft experience is feeling the game itself as I play, and boy did I get to feel. The combat is smooth as hell, the gear is fun and interesting, and the enemies are cool and well-placed for the most part, making for a fun and addictive combat cycle.

This game definitely has the best environments of any FromSoft game. Each one has a couple standout zones, but Elden Ring just has banger after banger. I never got tired of looking at the scenery as I was playing. Coupled with the atmospheric OST, it made for such a good experience.

Obviously, the bosses are sick too. I'm not a fan of all of em, but my standout ones (Placidusax, Rykard, Godrick) and other great ones (Ancestor Spirit, Maliketh, Fire Giant, Astel, and Fortissax) were just so fucking cool. There's a ton I think are good or okay as well, so it's a net positive for sure.

My only real gripe is that I think this game has the weakest face-value story of any FromSoft game. I never look much into the lore while I'm playing any of these games, so I'm sure it's much cooler once you delve into it, but from just what I gathered through gameplay, I didn't care nearly as much as I did while playing Bloodborne or Dark Souls. I'll have to get the full gist of it at some point.

I am very much looking forward to coming back to this game for a NG+ at some point, but after an 80 hour first playthrough, I think I should give it a tiny rest.
