I'm not sure what drove me to play this game, but I played it, and it was fun

It has big issues; some puzzles and actual progression paths are incredibly unintuitive to the point of needing a guide, actually using the poms you get in the dungeons is finnicky even when you just want them for utility stuff, and the game has a MASSIVE difficulty spike in the final dungeon. I also don't like the RPG trope of "you have x days to do this thing for me, otherwise you don't get the thing I have ever" which happened to me with one of the poms.

As for the community aspect of this game, I appreciate it but am not a fan. It doesn't really feel like I'm accomplishing anything when I build the community, since most of the buildings don't do anything, and there's a random chance of monsters attacking when you visit. On the other hand, I do very much like the buildings that have use. Having a teleportable town with a save spot, a healing spot, and a rare item store is very handy and forward-thinking on the developers' part.

Every track is an earworm, the sprites and environments are gorgeous, and the people who did the fan translation obviously put a lot of love into it; this is a genuinely funny and charming game thanks to them. In the end, I'm glad I spent the time I did playing Community Pom.
