The 4th final fantasy game I've played (FF7R, FF15, Crisis Core) and this one is challenging FF7R for my favorite.
I'm relatively new to the series so this game being more action-focused really captivated me compared to others.
Devil May Cry-like combat is fantastic. The score is incredible, like all FF games. The story was very good, even with some oddly paced main quests.
Boss fights in any AAA going forward will be compared to this game. Off the top of my head there are 5 boss fights that would be the best boss fights in any other series, let alone other games.
Side quests are better than FF15, but still very up and down. Some are full, and some are well worth it.
