With each new installation of Mega Man on the NES, the series stagnated more and more. This game doesn't offer much new but it does provide the same old fun gameplay the series had perfected. The introduction of Beat is okay but doesn't stand out as a huge improvement like the changes in 3 and 4; this is the first game in the series that felt somewhat stale and unimaginative.
