God of War (2018) was a great game so the idea of improving on it was a foreboding task. Ragnarök improves on the series in every way and is the best game in the franchise. The gameplay and gameplay have been improved, the characters and music are wonderful as always, and the story is amazingly told and absolutely beautiful. For a long time, I debated if this was better than the 2018 game; obviously, the gameplay and graphics are better but I had a difficult time choosing which story was better. With the release of the Valhalla DLC, I think this game tipped the scales and is the best entry in the God of War series for the way that it handles Kratos's character and passes the reins to Atreus.
