I can see why this is the creator Yuji Hori’s favorite game. It’s all you’ve come to know and love about the heart and silliness of the series with an emphasis on elements like time and family in a way I haven’t seen many do. Perhaps games like Mother 3 and some others, but still this game makes a lot of emotions have weight and does a great job of stirring hatred towards the villain. Also really cool the way choices (apart from ‘But Thou must!’ moments) come to effect things in the game.

Of what I’ve played this is top-of-the-line for the series alongside 3, but I havent yet finished 8. The presentation was also really great on the DS and I’m ever curious to revisit this perhaps on the ps2 version someday.
