i think about this review a lot and i think "trivial" is definitely the best way to describe the second half. sorta fumbles the insane mystery it has going by just making itself Liminal Space Carrie

for me i just feel like the weapons you're given are total overkill and unnecessary. there's a terrifying (in concept) chase sequence towards the end but you still have nearly infinite ammo and a melee weapon with the range of a sniper rifle

I think the fact you can pretty much run forever without anything happening takes a lot from the tension, and if you're in a small space, you have your gun, and if you're somehow out of ammo, you have extremely powerful melee weapons
I still think the "alternate" Silent Hill is pretty terrifying though
