In summary Soul Hackers 2 is just if the original Soul Hackers in SEGA Saturn in 1997 have a sequel in 1999, but with QOL features and have better graphics. Im posting this because thats what this game really is. I havent played the original game at all and this is what I feel about this game. In fact this game could be GOTY if this released on 00s in either Gamecube, PS2 and Xbox in 00s. But this game is mediocre even in mid 00s to early 10s standards with the Wii, PS3 and 360 generation. Im only still playing this because of completion achievement with true ending. But after that I will abandon this game

Been playing the original (3DS) for a while now. It's pretty much a game of that era. We have to think that game was made in 1997, for the Saturn of all things.

What kills this game in my opinion is this generic ass artstyle and boring dungeons, the rest is fine for JRPGs. But it was released in 2022, it feels already dated because of it's low budget nature.

I read your comment Moister but thats it though. Atlus said in numerous interviews and press conference is this IP supposed to be their 3rd pillar. But I dont see it. Even after the hype going on before this game release.

I know many disagree, this is Atlus we discussing about here. The original Soul Hackers despite its very niche still have cult following. While this one can be easily forgotten. Like be honest here why even revive this IP if this will be flop?

Sorry for the late response, you actually got me into playing this game and I'm about to finish it.

Atlus didn't even tried with this one. I don't really know what they wanted to do here, a mix between SMT and Persona? A throwback to the classic dungeon crawlers?

They could do something cool with the Devil Summoners IP but this ain't it.

Im not even expected for this game to be high tier game developed by Atlus. Only a AA game with average mid tier quality that expected within the low budget, like their spin offs like Persona 4 Arena and Persona 5 Strikers. Its obvious they tried to be this their 3rd pillar and their new IP Metaphor: Refantazio as their fourth pillar. But they just failed short. I mean unless Atlus fans want Etrian Odyssey to be the third pillar instead
