After playing Nier Autómata a year ago, the game which jump started my hunger to play these games. I was interested in Nier Replicant but I didn’t know what it really was, didn’t know if it was a sequel prequel whateva and after letting Automata sink in which was such an amazing game, I’ve decided to play Nier Replicant.
Compared to Automata which was a grand old adventure about life and humanity and robots, this was a very secluded isolated story about the main guy and his sister who got the Black Scrawl which is some disease where you turn into calligraphy and yer done. Then, a great cast joins, you find out who Emil is, and this girl I think who is Kaine who is pretty intense.
The story is absolutely amazing, you vs the shades and at first I was like how does this connect to Automata until the last ending. I have got Ending A - E which was a big grind, most of the quests, 33+ weapons and completed the second half like 4 times and Kaine’s story made it worth it.
I did not deal with the fishing and gardening quest cause it was gonna take super super long, and it’s a very fetch quest type of side quest thing. Anyways, the ending for E gotta be a great resolution of a journey and Yoko Taro deserves the praise and skill for writing and directing such great games. I might have to boot up Drakengard 3 soon because this got me feeling some typa way.
