This is some real speedy fun. I had a blast doing the Italian storyline, now I’m running through the PRC one. What’s with all the driving managers and their bad ’tudes?
The fake as hell manual transmission controls (at least compared to Gran Turismo, it’s not like I’m a huge car buff or anything) is so funny to me. The tunes, the tracks, the fun grippy-drifty handling, it’s all a grand time. It’s easy, and then you want perfection — and then it’s a really interesting challenge. Love it.
Gotta add: The final G.P. race is perfection. Throws out all the rules for your previous runs, distills the game to one track unique for how standard it is, and gives you three goes to master it. Peeved the first time, a speed demon the last. It’s masterful itself, the way it imparts a feeling of mastery to the player. Excellence.
