Absolutely my favorite Mario sports game ever! First of all, the actual baseball parts of the game are not very hard at all to play (except some of the special challenges, but that comes later). Most of the controls and techniques are almost intuitive, so the gameplay is very satisfying and rewarding. There was also a strategy aspect to choosing your team and placing your characters around the field, which was always fun to figure out. It's also fun to see all of the different fields since each one had a unique gimmick for playing on it.

Moving on to the story, it is very engaging to play through. Each of the different areas of the world are very fun to run around in and solve the little puzzles scattered throughout. Not to mention that all of the character interactions feel very organic and nothing feels forced for the sake of meeting the character.

Speaking of the characters, this game's roster is absolutely huge for what the game is. Sort of like Smash Bros but for Mario characters. It was always fun to meet and unlock a new character in the story. Although, some of the character's unlock challenges were a bit tricky or difficult to finish, but none of them were too bad. They all served their purpose of teaching the player different techniques for the baseball segments.

Multiplayer was also very fun on this game. It was nice because neither side had a huge advantage, so it was pretty fair. Using the special abilities of the captains was also very fun because they are specifically designed to mess with your opponent. Also, the strategy aspect of choosing your team was also fun in multiplayer because it rewards the player with a better team layout with more chances to do better.

All in all, I would recommend this game to anyone who enjoys Mario sports games, Mario games in general, and everyone who owns a Wii or Wii U.
