i know the first game is a notable one; this and the second get smushed together in a slog of nothing-games that clogged the memories from what i played on the early 2010's. a huge quantity of very, very mediocre games being released and gaining mainstream media traction, becoming popular and getting attention, month after month, for years on end.

2011

had to stop playing after i lost the funny ragdoll quad bike.
the joy of crashing on the gate to every level entrance and entering it by means of a pop-up pirate, engaging with the world head-first, cobbing myself towards hell through contact with the floor, screaming and propeling my flailing body towards the next section of bullet-fuelled graphical violence. they really lost the vision on this one imo.

the web does not adhere to the buildings.

the web does adhere to the buildings.

wtf. another bad decision from 2011. i remember i kept playing because i just had to see where all that shit would end up. i remember it involves toilets. not much else.

why do i keep finding the mediocre games i have played ten years ago and logging then to appear in my page as "games i have played". maybe im going literally insane.
in this game, the reason why you, a ghost, cannot ghost through walls, is because - and they make a point in telling you this - all the buildings, every construction in the goddamned town were, in some point of the past, consecrated. every. single. one. of them was blessed, anointed or whatever. thats the kinda of game this is. agressively mediocre.
and i know that i beated it this game back then but, kid you not, i dont remeber who killed the guy. who the fuck is the soul suspect???????

remember that gears' clones flood of mediocre games from 2010

Pandemic's open world games belong in a very specific era from the second half of the 00's.
minimme on youtube has a couple of great videos on the first mercenaries and one this one.

i remember this game being really, really long. i fell like when i've beaten it in the early 10's, i must have been playing it for months or years.

2011 gem that went nowhere.

tried playing it on dolphin with a gyro control. then i discovered theres a pc version. will play it someday.

too worlds too.
i was struggling to remember what game this was, since my memories smushed it together with gothic iv. and now i just remembered that i also played bound by flame ๐Ÿคฆ. oh my

immaculate cel-shaded textures. if you like such a medium, its worth a look.
played on the Sega Naomi II Flycast emulator, with upscaled internal resolution, a widescreen hack, and the inputs properly configured to work on a joystick. what a blast of energy the ~30-or-so minutes run of this ride is.
i think the only game that came to surpass the cel-shaded graphics technique from this 2001 arcade game was 2023's Hi-Fi Rush, from Tango Gameworks - yes, its that good-looking.
