2021

Performance on PS5 is unplayably bad after a few hours which is extremely disappointing as this is clearly an excellent open world puzzle platformer with a very intriguing premise and gorgeous setting.

A polished, slick Metroidvania with impressively deep combat and platforming which is a joy in the hands. The team have clearly cherry-picked the best of the many excellent examples of the genre in recent years and, I think, succeeded in packaging it all up for a mainstream audience. It's perhaps a touch too sprawling and a few bugs got in the way of some key moments for me (including one which resulted in having to replay a difficult boss battle). Nonetheless a welcome return for the series and I hope this is the start of an ongoing revival.
